Long ago, in the ancient lands of China, before construction of the Great Wall
had even began, there was a powerful clan of Ninja warriors known as “The Brothers
Lee”. Members of The Brothers Lee were masters of various martial arts including but
not limited to Kung Fu, Karate and Ninjitsu. The Master of the clan had three sons. Their
names were Atum Lee (oldest), Nikyus Lee (middle) and Yoshua Lee (youngest). It was
well known that Atum and Nikyus were the most talented ninjas the clan had to offer.
They were both always constantly trying to outdo each other to gain the respect of their
father “Master Lee” in order to hopefully one day be rewarded with the “Master Scroll of
Ninja Mastery”.
One historic day, Master Lee walked out of his Master hut wearing his Master
robes which he never ever wore except on legendary occasions. Atum and Nikyus were
certain that this was going to be the day that their father handed down the Master Scroll
to one of his followers (Master Lee had been sick for many days and moons now and it
was only a matter of time before he had to make a decision). Atum approached his father
while he was having his afternoon tea in front of an apple tree. “Father, behold my skill!”
Atum declared. He then spelt his name into the tree with ninja throwing stars, “A-T-U-
M” he announced. Master Lee approached his oldest son with a smile and patted him on
the head in approval. The Master then continued on his walk after having finished his tea.
Nikyus saw his opportunity at this point to show off and performed a double ninja spiral
back flip and landed on the point of his staff, balancing perfectly. Master Lee was much
impressed by this also, and patted his second son on the head in approval. Once again,
Master Lee continued on his afternoon journey until he came upon his youngest son who
was training very hard by himself doing ninja sit ups and ninja push ups in the middle of
a field. Atum and Nikyus watched from afar as their father handed the Master scroll of
Ninja Mastery to the youngest son of all, Yoshua. Atum and Nikyus were outraged by
this and demanded answers from their father after he had returned to his master
hut. “How could you do this?” Atum cried. “He’s not even a good Ninja!” Nikyus
exclaimed. Master Lee was sitting on his chair, stroking his beard and had this to say for
all “He who acts only to impress others, has no honor. He who’s cause is just and he
who’s path is his own, shall be rewarded honorably.” Master Lee then had a heart attack,
those were his final words of wisdom…
